Betsy grew up in Bethesda,
Maryland where she attended local schools. She
received her
Bachelor of Arts from
George Washington University in 1985 and
completed law school at George Washington
University in 1988. After practicing in Middle
Georgia for several years, Betsy moved to
Columbus with husband, Gil. She has practiced
in Columbus since 1991.
Over the years, much of Betsy's
practice has concentrated on bankruptcy work.
She enjoys helping honest debtors resolve
financial problems and has presented
professionally, offering
continuing legal education to other
lawyers on issues concerning bankruptcy. With
the growth of her own family, Betsy has added
practice areas which involve the interests of
children, including adoption, guardian ad litem
services and custody and
child support representation.
Betsy handles all six types of adoption and
offers adoption services throughout
Georgia.
Betsy and Gil have been married
since 1987 and have four children, ages sixteen
(16), fifteen (15), six (6) and three (3). They
are active members of Saint Paul United
Methodist Church. Betsy has also been active as
a Girl Scout leader and is a sustaining member
of the
Junior League of Columbus. She was a
founding member of the Columbus Association of
Women Lawyers
